GREG REITMAN is an international entrepreneur who combines an impressive background in film production, marketing, distribution and technology. In 2000, GREG REITMAN founded BLUE WATER ENTERTAINMENT, INC., an independent production company focusing on environmentally conscious entertainment. Widely regarded as Hollywood’s “GREEN FILMMAKER,” GREG REITMAN recently produced the 2008 SUNDANCE Audience Award-winning feature documentary “FUEL,” which presents the case for alternative energy as the fastest and most sustainable means to reducing our country’s dependence on oil. He wrote, produced, and directed the feature documentary “HOLLYWOOD’S MAGICAL ISLAND-CATALINA” (2003), syndicated on American Public Television (APT). GREG REITMAN is currently in production on his new feature documentary film, “ROOTED in PEACE.”
Prior to Blue Water Entertainment, GREG REITMAN worked in the high tech arena for five years.
From 2000-2002, he managed the Global Business Development, Media & Entertainment division for Fortune 500 company LSI Logic, Inc. a leading manufacturer of semiconductors, silicon chips, and fiber channel storage. At LSI, he was responsible for the creation and implementation of the entertainment strategic business plan as well as running the vertical entertainment business. In addition, he produced the brand identity package for the company’s division.
In 1994, GREG REITMAN moved to Sydney, Australia, where he co-founded the Meta Group subsidiary operation in Australia and New Zealand. During this time, he was the top sales executive, attaining sales up to $1 million in the first 10 months. He later relocated to Los Angeles operating as senior sales director, where he achieved top revenues for the company. In addition, he was a leading industry technology spokesman in the areas of multimedia, electronic publishing, and e-commerce.
GREG REITMAN began his career in 1993, working in the marketing and sales department for Oxford University Press in New York City. In 1994 he moved to London, where he worked for Simon & Schuster International in Hemel Hempstead, England. At Simon & Schuster (formerly Viacom), he was responsible for the packaging and launch of Viacom’s first educational multimedia product in the global marketplace.
GREG REITMAN is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with international studies at Florence University in Florence, Italy; Hokkaido University in Sapporo, Japan; Tel-Aviv University in Tel-Aviv, Israel. He received a Masters Certificate in Creative Producing at his alumni school Tel-Aviv University. He also is an alumnus and member of the Hollywood Film Institute, the International Documentary Association, and the Travis Directing School.
He currently resides in Los Angeles, living a “green lifestyle.”
